About Me
“Once you discover ways to be grateful and enjoy the simple things, being alive somehow becomes easier.” – Natalie Thomson
My story
I have always loved to write. When I was a kid, I wrote to everyone: from the Queen to our Prime Minister. If I had something to say, I went to the top, and I even got replies!
Fast forward 30 years, and I've spent most of my working life in administration roles, where I've always managed to incorporate my love for writing.
Since becoming involved in various school and community groups, I've written several successful grant applications that gained money to complete some very cool projects. Being involved in making a film that screened on the local silos is my most favourite.
My two passions in life are writing and helping people. I've combined them to create my business, 'Write on Track on Line'. I am all about helping small rural businesses and individuals succeed online. In the digital world, geography is no longer a barrier for those living in rural parts of Australia.
Experience and knowledge are as important as each other. In 2016 I returned to study to gain the knowledge needed to understand and survive in the fast-paced and ever-changing digital world. In January 2018, I graduated from Open Colleges with a Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing. In 2020 I completed the Diploma of Social Media Marketing at Redmako Learning.
In my blog, I share the knowledge I have acquired in my 20+ years of working in administration in various industries with the training I have recently completed. I aim to help small rural business owners and individuals realise the countless opportunities that await. My experience
Since completing further studies, I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of small rural businesses. I have assisted with tasks including writing a regular blog, getting them online with a website, through to helping out with their social media pages.
My life
I live on a farm at Nyah West with my husband, Ross and two teenage daughters, Hannah and Josie. The farm predominately grows onion seed that is sent all over the world. We wouldn’t say we’re living the dream, but we enjoy farm life, and it’s great that our girls have grown up with the freedom of wide-open spaces and plenty of fresh air.
Farming is all I have ever known. I grew up on a farm just out of Culgoa, a town that is still very dear to me. My Mum and Dad have retired to Nyah West. Since they moved up here, Mum and I have become obsessed with growing flowers (well, Mum has always been, I got into it during Covid). I started a little flower-growing business, Drift Sand Blooms, in 2021. You can check us out on our Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest social pages.
Family is everything to me, and my writing work fits perfectly around everything I need to do in a week for everyone. Life is hectic, from the farm to chasing kids and earning a living, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
